New Student Orientation and Registration

Register for the New Student Orientation below. You will also receive an email from our admissions team with additional information.

Note: We have implemented enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of campus facilities along with a number of new operating procedures to help protect the health of our students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. We will be abiding by all social distancing and health guidelines during orientations. Please bring masks with you for the event, and we ask that you participate in a temperature check conducted by a Mercer staff member upon arrival.

Learn more about the University’s COVID-19 guidelines and plans, including the screening survey requirement for all incoming students.

Submit all official transcripts as soon as possible.

If you are currently enrolled in any coursework or if you have completed any coursework since submitting your application, please request for the institution(s) to digitally send all official transcripts to through Parchment, eSCRIP-SAFE, TranscriptsPlus, or the National Student Clearinghouse. If a former institution does not utilize digital delivery, request that they send your official transcript via postal mail to Mercer University, Office of University Admissions, P.O. Box 2140, McDonough, GA 30253. Your transcripts help determine your Mercer class schedule and federal financial aid.

Complete the virtual ACCUPLACER assessment.

The College of Professional Advancement requires a completed ACCUPLACER assessment prior to registering for classes.* Late assessments can be scheduled on a case-by-case basis. This assessment is used to determine if you are eligible for possible exemption from certain classes. To schedule your assessment, submit an application. Then, check your email for instructions to choose a convenient date and time.
*Students in the Stetson-Hatcher School of Business and Tift College of Education are not required to take this assessment.

Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Complete your FAFSA to be considered for additional financial assistance. Mercer’s federal school code is 001580.*
*You will not be able to select a location. Macon is correctly listed as the city.

Access your MyMercer account.

Mercer’s Information Technology Help Desk will send your MyMercer username and default password to the email address used to create your application.

Accept the Statement of Student Responsibilities.

All Mercer students must digitally sign the Statement of Student Responsibilities before you are eligible to register for classes. This statement can be found on the Student Information Dashboard when you log into MyMercer.

Begin checking your Mercer email.

Access your Mercer email account by visiting the Office 365 sign-in page at Enter your Mercer University ID number followed by and enter the same password used to access your MyMercer account. Learn more about accessing or forwarding email at All official email communication from the University will be sent to this email account.

Review your financial aid estimate.

Your financial aid estimate will be sent to you via your Mercer email address when it is ready to review. Schedule an appointment with the Office for Student Success to discuss your financial aid in detail and ask any questions you may have.

Plan your payment if you are not using financial aid.

Bills will be posted to your MyMercer account approximately 30 days before the start of the session if you’ve begun the registration process with your new student advisor. Check your Mercer email for notifications. Your account balance is due the first day of class. Information about payment plan options is available through the Office of the Bursar.

Meet with your new student advisor.

Schedule an appointment with your new student advisor to learn more about charting your program completion and building your first semester of classes. Reference your acceptance letter for your new student advisor’s contact information.

Attend New Student Orientation.

View the New Student Orientation dates at the top of this page, and register for the orientation most convenient for you. If you are enrolled in a fully online program, you will receive an email to register for the virtual New Student Orientation. During this session, you will be provided with additional resources that are pertinent to online students, including an IT checklist for computer specifications and training in Mercer’s course management system, Canvas.

Order textbooks and materials.

After meeting with your new student advisor before or during orientation, you should have your course schedule for the upcoming session. In preparation for your classes, order textbooks and supplemental resources from the Mercer bookstore. Visit a bookstore location in Atlanta or Macon, or order online at

Review the academic catalog and student handbook.

Find your program in the academic catalog to learn more about your courses, elective options, and more. Visit to select your location’s catalog. To familiarize yourself with the University’s policies and procedures affecting students, review the student handbook.

Complete your Immunization Form.

All students completing coursework in person at one of Mercer’s locations must submit an Immunization Form prior to the end of their first semester.* Return your completed Immunization Form to Student Health Services. Students enrolled in Atlanta, Douglas County, or Henry County, submit your Immunization Form to 3001 Mercer University Drive, Atlanta, GA 30341, or Students enrolled in Macon, submit your Immunization Form to 1501 Mercer University Drive, Macon, GA 31207, or
*Fully online students are exempt from immunization requirements.
